Monday, May 6th, TOPCA excluded me from their debate saying I didn’t register early enough even though the deadline for nominations was well known. All the current Councillors got a seat at the table. Tuesday, May 7th, MIRANET excluded me from their debate saying they only had room for six, though only five showed up. As a candidate vying for the position of Mayor in Mississauga, I've encountered significant hurdles in accessing local debates, hinting at a concerning bias towards certain incumbent councillors. It all began on May 6th when I was inexplicably excluded from the TOPCA Mayoralty debate—a decision that seems arbitrary and undemocratic, particularly coming from an organization advocating for the voice of unelected individuals, which adds an ironic twist to the situation.
