Politics is an interesting racket out there, and I never thought in all my years of covering stuff on the film industry would I randomly be talking to someone who was running for mayor. But he did have some experience in film work and has chatted with film types. Who? Brian Crombie, a man of many talents, and a resume of assorted jobs that he could solve all of the city’s problems, maybe even all of Toronto’s problems. Currently, Brian wants to be Mississauga’s next mayor, and with what he has planned, you’ll probably wish you were living there just to vote for him after reading this. That by-election is coming up fast....

As you may know I am Chair of Transit Alliance a GTA wide civic advocacy group: https://transitalliance.ca. My recent The Brian Crombie Hour show on Friday, May 31st, at 6 pm was about transit: https://youtu.be/xIPtGTRz6TM. I have done a TEDx talk on transformational transit: https://youtu.be/bF7hM0JLJg0. The most transformation transit for Mississauga would be all day two way frequent GO service on the Mississauga Milton line. The Neptis foundation report from 2014 and the Big Move said it was a 8:1 benefit to cost ratio project, the highest in the GTA and probably in North American...

As a candidate vying for the position of Mayor in Mississauga, I've encountered significant hurdles in accessing local debates, hinting at a concerning bias towards certain incumbent councillors. It all began on May 6th when I was inexplicably excluded from the TOPCA Mayoralty debate—a decision that seems arbitrary and undemocratic, particularly coming from an organization advocating for the voice of unelected individuals, which adds an ironic twist to the situation. The following day, May 7th, MIRANET followed suit, citing limited space as they excluded me from their debate, despite only five participants showing up...

Monday, May 6th, TOPCA excluded me from their debate saying I didn’t register early enough even though the deadline for nominations was well known. All the current Councillors got a seat at the table. Tuesday, May 7th, MIRANET excluded me from their debate saying they only had room for six, though only five showed up. Not one newcomer was welcome at this table. Is the fix in? Both these organizations say they are for greater community voice […]
